The Ammathottil is a state-of-the-art education & rehabilitation home in Kerala’s capital city of Thiruvananthapuram, for underprivileged children, built under the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare (KSCCW). Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation extended its support to construct the five-storied building in the KSCCW campus at Thycaud for children aged 6 to 18 years. The building comprises of classrooms and dormitories for children and their caregivers. The facilities also include a kitchen and dining space, apart from a computer room and library. It is also equipped with play areas for recreational purposes.
The Mount Carmel Children’s Home is a shelter home located in the city of Kochi. Guardians of Dreams, a social organization that aims to provide quality life outcomes to children living in orphanages and street shelters in India, collaborated with the Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation to renovate the shelter home.
The entire floor of the building was renovated with 16 cubicles, each designed to house five children. Based on the need assessment, the rooms were fitted with modern facilities, including new beds, playfully colored walls and other accessories.
The project has helped give the children access to a hygienic, safe and child friendly environment, which will allow them to better participate in social, educational, economic and community aspects of their individual lives.
The Adeeb & Shafeena Foundation has contributed towards meeting the operational expenses of Sradha - School for Children with Special Needs based in Kochi. The contribution is for a period of two years, and will help cover expenses related to food, transportation and education of the children studying at the school, apart from ancillary & administrative expenses such as water, electricity, medical bills, stationery, materials for vocational training, printing and office maintenance.
The Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation has helped build the Hira Public School at Kaipamangalam in Thrissur and continues to support the educational needs of several students hailing from financially constrained families.
The Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation has helped build a community centre for girls in the Government Higher Secondary at Mattool in Kannur.
Cancure – a welfare organization for cancer support and dialysis care collaborated with the Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation to develop in-patient infrastructure and healthcare facilities at its Santhwanam Kendram centre in Kochi.
The Foundation provided support to build an entire floor for housing the patients, including beds and equipments, geared towards providing affordable palliative care & dialysis to the elderly and the sick.
The Kochi Biennale Foundation is a cultural welfare organization responsible for the conduct of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Art and culture play an interconnected role in the development of any society, and the Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation has been involved in several editions of the biennale as a patron and sponsor to promote development of local artisans and the community.
Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation has partnered with the welfare organization Thanal to provide financial aid & support for construction and renovation of homes under the Thanal Housing Project.
The Foundation donated an ambulance to a voluntary service organization in Kasargod, to ferry patients from interior areas. The ambulance was much needed for the local community, considering the lack of connectivity with the nearest healthcare facility.
The Foundation annually donates food provisions to needy patients who are under the care of Thanal Foundation – a social service organization that provides a range of healthcare facilities. The provisions can feed a family of four for one month.
The Adeeb and Shafeena Action & Research Foundation has contributed to the welfare initiatives of Kumily based Maanushi Foundation, a social organization working towards empowerment of women & local communities through sensitization campaigns, nature-based solutions, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
